Employer matching programs

Some employers will make a financial donation to a charity of your choice based on the number of hours you volunteer for PTA or another eligible non-profit. And those workplace donations can really add up!

There are two main pathways for this:

  • Volunteer Tracking Grants: Many companies offer “volunteer grants,” providing donations to nonprofits based on the hours you volunteer.  You can keep track of the number of hours you are spending for PTA work and log it in the company volunteer site. You might get donation currency for you to send to any charity/non-profit you choose. You could send this back to Fuller PTA. This kind of support directly funds community initiatives and requires only that you track and report your volunteer hours to your company. Check with your HR department to see if your workplace offers this type of program.

  • Matching Gifts: Another way is through employee donations. Many employers will match—often dollar-for-dollar—your personal donations to eligible nonprofits, significantly amplifying your impact. For the PTA, you can easily participate in this matching program through platforms like Benevity.  Your company may then match your contribution according to their guidelines.

By leveraging both of these options, your volunteer work and financial support can unlock substantial additional funding for causes you care about. Contact your HR or company’s giving platform for details on signing up and maximizing your workplace giving opportunities.

Below are the giving platforms where PTA has an account and a list of companies that use the platform. If your company’s platform isn’t listed, contact the PTA president so we can sign up.
